If you're busy getting ready for Halloween and you're excited about the costume you've picked out and made for you pet chicken, I have some bad news. The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning.

According to ABC News, the CDC says you may want to avoid dressing your chicken up for Halloween, due to a recent salmonella outbreak (which includes Michigan). And they specifically warn, "Don’t kiss your birds or snuggle them and then touch your face or mouth." My advice? You know your chicken better than anybody. Don't let the government get in the middle of a fun family night for you and your chicken.

Here's the story. To you and your chicken - stay safe.
