We talk a lot about hunting and fishing and being outdoors on the WITL morning show. Of course, I'm aware that not everybody participates in the "shooting sports" we talk about. Not everybody was brought up in a family that was into that stuff. Or it could be that you just don't have a place to go shooting. In either case, I know some people who might be able to help.

This Sunday (May 15th) the Capital Area Sportsmen's League is having an open house from 10AM - 3PM. The CASL has been around for 80 years, so it's not like they just threw this together. They're located along the Grand River on Old River Trail (in the same area as Horrock's)

The CASL offers trap and skeet fields and a full sporting clays course. They've got indoor, 3-D and field archery ranges and shooting ranges for pistol and rifle. And, of course, if you've never done any of this stuff, don't hesitate to ask questions - someone there will help you out.

Have fun - maybe I'll see you out there.
