There's a story making it's way around the internet about a guy catching a 3,000 pound great white shark on Lake Michigan.

Are you sitting down? Apparently, according to MLive.com, that never happened. No, seriously.

The story, originally on worldnewsdailyreport.com even quotes a University of Illinois professor of biology who explains a shark being in Lake Michigan, by saying, “Either rising sea temperatures and depleted fish stocks possibly led the shark to adventure itself further into the Great Lakes region." Makes sense to me.

A LOT of people bought into the story and it got around 7,000 Facebook shares.
