Blind Hiking Guide in Subaru TV Spot? He’s From Michigan
You may have seen the Subaru Outback TV commercial where the young couple are looking for an "off the map" trail, only to have a an older blind man take them to the trail personally. The TV spot has been widely acclaimed, but the better story might be the guy playing the blind guide. According to AdWeek, His name is George Wurtzel, he's from Michigan (Traverse City) originally, he is blind AND he really does lead sighted people on hikes around Napa Valley, California, to "give them a different take on the surroundings".
And he's also a woodworker. Here's his company's Facebook page. Impressive.
