After being home to the "Best Beer Scene" for the last two years, Grand Rapids has fallen to #2. Sad. (I know some people who are NOT going to take this lightly)

The new "best beer scene" in America is in - St. Louis, Missouri. (The last time this happened was probably 1876, when Budweiser was introduced).

According to MLive.com, the panel of experts who nominated the cities to be voted on by USA Today readers, were looking for "established and up-and-coming breweries, beer bars, brewpubs, beer festivals and thriving homebrew communities". During the time I went to high school and then worked in St. Louis, there was really no "beer scene" in St. Louis, except for Anheuser-Busch. (Though, as I remember, the brewery tour was pretty cool.)

I guess I need to go back and do some "research" on the situation.
