Well, it happened. This morning on my way to work I saw the dreaded digital sign warning me that Aurelius Road over I-96 would be closed starting on March 1st. According to the MDOT website, the road will be closed due to bridge repair.

I decided to do a little more research on the project and called MDOT to find out how long my normal route to work would be affected by the road closure...(because well, it's all about me)...I spoke to a very nice gentleman from MDOT named Greg and he gave me some additional information on the project. Some of it was over my head, however, I did find out that once the repairs are finished, there is going to be a place for pedestrians to walk along Aurelius. (Which is a very good idea.)

Here's the part of the conversation that I understood--and to be very honest--didn't really like--the construction is supposed to last until mid-June! That means for the next three months or so, I'm probably gonna have to leave my house a few minutes earlier to accommodate for the detour. (Again, it's all about me...)
