Here's some important recall news if you or someone you know uses a portable battery charger from Amazon. According to USA Today, Amazon is recalling 260,000 AmazonBasics portable chargers after reports that they can overheat and cause fires or burns. So far, Amazon has received 53 reports of the chargers overheating. There's been one reported injury of chemical burns due to contact with battery acid and four reports of property damage, including fire and smoke damage.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled portable battery chargers were sold at Amazon.com, Amazon book stores and Amazon pop-up shops between December 2014 and July 2017. The recall covers six versions of the AmazonBasics portable battery.
