The big news out of Milford these days is the albino whitetail deer in Kensington Metropark. Apparently. the chances of seeing an albino deer in the wild is 1 in 30,000.(I've never seen one in the wild) According to WXYZ TV, Instagram photos of this deer starting showing up online in December. Over this past weekend, somebody got video of it on their phone.

And while it's not illegal (anymore) to take an albino deer during hunting season - it's not hunting season, you can't hunt in Kensington Metropark and REALLY? My opinion - don't shoot one. It's Michigan. There are plenty of other deer around - and, according to Native American legend, it's bad luck to kill an albino deer. And you don't need any of that.

FYI - This week, I saw cellphone photos of a piebald deer living near the Lansing airport. Very cool - and maybe even rarer than seeing an albino deer.
