A Festival All About Bourbon And Bacon Is Coming To Michigan

Bourbon and bacon is a winning combination in my book. I love the flavor combination of salty, sumptuous bacon paired with caramel-y, spicy bourbon. They compliment each other so well. And if you too enjoy this winning combination, there is a festival just for you: Bourbon & Bacon Fest.

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort is hosting this spirit and food festival on Saturday, September 29th. The festival brings together distilleries and restaurants from both, across the nation and from right here in the Mitten State. Bourbon lovers can look forward to tasting samples from Traverse City Whiskey Co., Lagavulin, Maker's, and more. On the bacon side of things, the food tastings run the gamut from savory to sweet.

• Green Dot Stables is featuring a sweet potato bacon salad with buffalo trace reduction
• Midland Brewing Company is bringing smoked bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with maple bourbon glaze (they've got bourbon & bacon rolled into one dish!)
• Sugar High Bakery is serving up maple bacon cupcakes

That's just a small taste (pun intended) of what you can sample at Bourbon & Bacon Fest.
