If you're headed to Michigan State's graduation ceremony this Friday, here are 5 things you need to know before you go:

  1. Commencement festivities get underway Friday, May 4th at 1pm and will continue through Sunday.
  2. Michigan State officials are recommending that visitors park in larger lots and ramps on the Michigan State campus and then use free shuttle services to get where they need to go.
  3. No bags or purses of any kind will be allowed into the Breslin Center. Metal detectors will also be used at all entrances.
  4. Wanda Herndon, who is a former executive with Starbucks, will be the keynote speaker for Friday's convocation ceremony.
  5. If you can't be there in person, you can watch the graduation ceremonies online as they will be live-streamed at  commencement.msu.edu.
