5 Things You May Not Know About Billy Currington

Billy Currington will be performing live at Taste of Country - Lansing, on June 11th, at Cooley Law School Stadium - along with the Eli Young Band and artists to be named at a later date, presented by your neighborhood Michigan Ford dealers. You may be a fan of his music, but did you know these facts about Billy Currington?:

1. Billy was born in Savannah, Georgia, lived for a time on Tybee Island, but was primarily raised in the nearby small town of Rincon, GA. Rincon is Spanish for "corner". Billy is the only famous person to ever live in Rincon.

2. Billy has two brothers and sisters and four sisters. So, he knows how to take quick showers. If he ever comes to your house to take a shower.

3. Billy now lives on Tybee Island again. On February 5, 1958, during a U.S. Air Force training exercise, there was a mid-air collision of a B-47 bomber and an F-86 fighter jet over Tybee Island. There were no casualties involved, but it was revealed that the B-47 had been carrying a 7600 pound Mark 15 nuclear bomb. The bomb was jettisoned near Tybee Island for safety reasons and did not detonate. However, that bomb was never located and is presumably still there. So, if you meet Billy backstage - there's your conversation starter.

4. When Billy first moved to Nashville, his "real" jobs included pouring concrete and being a personal trainer. Good to know if you're pouring a driveway or trying to lose a few pounds, on or around June 11th.

5. Billy has had NINE number one songs! The first was "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right". The latest was "Don't It".
