We were traveling earlier this afternoon and at times the weather was making it a challenge. Not that it seemed that the snow and ice was that terrible where we were, but the combination of some precipitation and the occasional slow downs and slick spots on the roads were the issues.

Fortunately, we didn't witness any issues other than a slide off that didn't look serious. However, there was a pileup on I-96 today just outside of Grand Rapids that resulted in three people having to go to the hospital.

According to WILX-TV, over 40 cars were in the pileup, which occurred on I-96 West, east of Grand Rapids in Cascade Township at around 1 p.m. today. There is no known cause of the pileup just yet, however some do believe it could have happened due to a big rig that began to jackknife.
